Verdict: a free account works, but it runs slower. The beginner banner hits hard pity at 40 pulls, so that is the first deadline to track. Try Arknights: Endfield on PC and follow the timeline below.

Is Arknights: Endfield worth starting on PC?

Yes, if you accept slow progression. It's a real-time 3D action RPG with strategic elements, a semi-open world, and base-building and factory layers on top of combat, per the Arknights: Endfield Wikipedia entry. It's also a gacha game with a paid battle pass, so the free path is slower.

On PC, the game launched in January 2026 (Gematsu). It reached Steam on October 15, 2026 alongside the Sanctuary of Ink update (Gematsu, Final Weapon). Cross-platform progression carries over, so your account isn't split by storefront (Automaton).

Days 1 to 7: the order of operations

Your first week has three jobs: swap to Electric Mining Rigs, build a core squad around Endministrator and Chen Qianyu, and read the banner terms before you spend a pull. The day split below is this guide's suggested pace, not a schedule from any source.

Day 1: finish the tutorial first

Finish the opening tutorial before you go wandering. Push the main story, and explore in loops tied to your current mission instead of clearing every corner.

Days 2 to 3: push the story and fix your rigs

Swap Portable Originium Rigs for Electric Mining Rigs early. Portable rigs fill fast and need emptying often. The electric version, powered by a Relay Tower and Electric Pylons, sends ore straight into storage (endfield.gg).

Days 4 to 5: a good window to build a core squad

Commit to four operators around one damage approach. Game8's free-to-play starter team centers on Endministrator and Chen Qianyu, with Endministrator as the main damage dealer (Game8). Sanity goes to Protocol Space: Promotions and Operator EXP first, then skill upgrades and weapon tuning (Game8).

Treat the squad as a starting point, not a rule. Revisit it once your core operators are promoted.

Days 6 to 7: check your pulls

The beginner banner closes after its pulls, so check it first.

Banner Threshold Pulls Source
Beginner Hard pity six-star 40 PCGamesN, GameWith, Game8
Standard Soft pity / hard pity 65 / 80 PCGamesN
Limited Hard pity (50/50 starts) 80 PCGamesN
Limited Featured six-star (hard pity) 120 PCGamesN

Three sources agree on 40 for the beginner banner, so this guide uses 40. Pull progress carries over between banners, but the featured pity threshold doesn't (PCGamesN). Hold your Oroberyl until you can make a real attempt at the operator you want. If you haven't started yet, get Arknights: Endfield on PC — the beginner banner is the one window you don't want to sleep on.

Arsenal Tickets come from your pulls too: 2,000 per six-star operator (PCGamesN). Credits cap at 300 per day (Endfield Wiki). Check both in your first week.

Aim for Authority Level 43 next. It unlocks the Arrival at Wuling mission in Chapter 2, Process I. GameWith and Game8 both give that level (GameWith, Game8).

Combat usage: the usage pattern the sources support

The sources give no fixed rotation. endfield.gg is the main source; the Endfield Wiki checks its SP rules.

SP rule Value Source
Team pool 300 SP, shown as three bars of 100 Endfield Wiki
Battle Skill cost 100 for most, 50 or 25 for some Endfield Wiki
Combo Skill cost 0 SP, but cooldowns and a trigger Endfield Wiki
In-combat regeneration 8 SP per second Endfield Wiki
  1. Budget your SP. endfield.gg says a Battle Skill costs one point. The wiki says most cost a full bar and some cost less. Check in-game.
  2. Freeze, then swap. endfield.gg's example is a skill that freezes an enemy, followed by a swap to an operator whose Combo Skill triggers on frozen enemies. Combo Skills need that trigger and have cooldowns (endfield.gg).
  3. Keep your main damage dealer in control. Use skills from background operators while you control the main damage dealer (endfield.gg). On Game8's starter team, that's Endministrator (Game8). No second source describes this rule, so treat it as single-sourced.
  4. Fire Ultimates at full energy. Operators need max Ultimate Energy to cast Ultimates (endfield.gg, Endfield Wiki).
  5. Refill SP through play. The wiki puts in-combat regeneration at 8 SP per second. Perfect dodges and Final Strikes restore extra SP (Endfield Wiki). endfield.gg calls natural regeneration slow and names Heavy Attacks instead of Final Strikes. The sources disagree, and I could not confirm the Heavy Attacks claim, so test it in-game before you rely on it.

Variant: free account versus spend path

On a free account, the tradeoff is time. Oroberyl comes from play, including daily missions and the Operational Manual, or from converting Origeometry (Endfield Wiki). I found no reliable per-day income figure, so don't build a pull plan around one.

On the spend path, you pay for speed. The paid battle pass accelerates progression, and Origeometry converts to Oroberyl and restores Sanity (Wikipedia, Endfield Wiki). Spend only on a limited banner whose operator is already in your core squad.

Common mistakes

  • Leveling the whole roster. Spreading EXP across everyone slows your main team. Stick with your four.
  • Spending Sanity on skills first. Promotions and Operator EXP come before skill upgrades and weapon tuning.
  • Pulling a limited banner without a plan. The featured pity threshold doesn't carry over to the next banner (PCGamesN). Advice, not from a source: start a limited banner only once you can afford a real run at its hard pity.
  • Letting the beginner banner close unused. It ends after 40 pulls, so plan for that window rather than drifting past it.
  • Leaving the starting rig in place. Portable rigs need emptying often.

Verdict: worth the grind if you play it slow

It's worth the grind on PC if you let the story and mining rigs carry the early game. Rigs come first and banners later. endfield.gg says to get Electric Mining Rigs early, and PCGamesN and Game8 set the banner rules to check before you pull. Hold your pulls, keep your squad small, and jump in and start your first run.

Is Arknights: Endfield free to play on PC?

Yes. Gematsu describes the game as a free-to-play 3D RPG available on PC.

Can a free player pull a six-star from the beginner banner?

Yes, if you reach 40 pulls. The beginner banner hits hard pity at 40 pulls, according to PCGamesN, and it closes after those pulls (GameWith). The sources don't confirm how many free pulls a new account gets, so check your pull count before the banner closes.

Does my progress carry over if I switch from the launcher to Steam?

Yes. Cross-platform progression carries over, so existing players keep their progress (Automaton, InvenGlobal).
